Quality Manager

Sierra-Olympic Technologies, Inc. is a fast-growing manufacturer of electronic imaging technologies for defense, aerospace, industrial, and commercial markets.  The company seeks a skilled Quality Systems Manager to drive the company’s success and growth.

The Quality Manager is responsible for the implementation, effectiveness, and continual improvement of the SOTI Management System. The Quality Manager provides critical feedback to Executive Leadership Team (ELT) on the status of the Management System, leads relevant improvement projects, and advises front-line managers on best practices for effective compliance with Management System requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Owns and improves the Management System to maintain ISO9001:2015 compliance.
  • Works with SOTI leadership to define and achieve Quality Objectives.
  • Understands and develops quality processes and reports.  Fluency in core tools APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, and 8D problem solving methodology.
  • Owns and improves the management review, risk management, document control, record control, internal audit, and corrective action processes.
  • Supports the Nonconforming Material process as a key stakeholder and MRB member.
  • Assists Engineering in the implementation and improvement of design and development processes.
  • Assists Operations in the implementation and improvement of supplier management, purchasing, production control, and equipment calibration processes.
  • Partners with Customer Support team to ensure prompt and appropriate response to customer complaints.
  • Develops and communicates metrics relevant to Management System performance.
  • Working with the Purchasing Manager supports supplier quality audits and supplier corrective action activities as required.
  • Supports customer and third-party audits of the Management System.
  • Working with Manufacturing ensures that adequate controls are in place to qualify incoming material and outgoing products.
  • Achieves and/or maintains thorough knowledge of ISO9001:2015 requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in science or engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant work experience in a high-tech manufacturing environment, preferably in the aerospace industry.
  • Proven experience implementing, executing, and improving processes.
  • Demonstrated bias for action when solving problems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong aptitude with software applications, including Excel and other Microsoft Office applications (experience with SharePoint, Teams, and/or similar collaborations tools a plus).

Salary

$80,000.00 to $120,000 /year DOE + benefits
